President Mukherjee on Friday met the personnel of the Tri Service band contingent, who participated in the Beating the Retreat ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
According to a release from the President's office, the officers and jawans, as well as the provost outriders of the three services assembled were congratulated for their hard work and dedication, The President also stated that their 'military precision' ensured that the Republic Day celebrations were a success, and said that he expected similar hard work from the personnel in the future as well.
The Beating the Retreat ceremony, which is held on January 29 in the evening at Rajpath, marks the end of the Republic Day celebrations.
