Depression over Arabian Sea intensifies into cyclone

A deep depression over the east-central region of the Arabian Sea has moved in a north-north-west direction and has intensified into a cyclonic storm, which has been named 'Ashobaa'.

A release by the Ministry of Earth Science informed that Ashobaa is currently 590 kilometres west-south-west of Mumbai and is expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm during next 36 hours.
