Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired a high-level meet for the quick adoption of a multi-pronged strategy to augment the irrigation network in the country.
Among those present at the meet were Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharati, Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Chaudhary Birender Singh, Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Kumar Balyan and Niti Aayog CEO Sindhushree Khullar,.
This meet comes after the Met department predicted that this year's monsoon will below par.
