Thousands of devotees on Tuesday morning took a holy dip at the Sangam, the convergence of three rivers - Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati in Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya.
"People believe in taking a dip on the auspicious occasion here. People come from distant places to bath in Ganga. This occasion comes once in a year and we await it," said a devotee.
Mauni Amavasya is one of the most crucial days for taking a holy dip during the 44-day Magh Mela here.
