Did SRK face long 'odds' to become 'ace'?

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has huge global fame and acclaim, but was it hard for him to reach his current level of success?

Speaking at the launch of the book 'Ace Against Odds,' written by Sania Mirza's father Imran Mirza that chronicles her rise to the top as one of the most prominent sports personas of India, King Khan opened about his journey and the odds that he faced.

"Mine has been a fortunate journey. I can't really romanticize too many obstacles along the way," the 50-year-old star told the media here.

The 'Fan' star continued saying, "When you are successful, you lose the ability to surprise; you lose the ability to fail. That's a little difficult to deal with."

"There is no alternative to hard work and that is what you keep doing. You wake up every morning and try to work a little bit harder. If I am successful, I have to work hard to be able to retain it, if I am unsuccessful, I have to work hard to regain it," he added.

On the work front, he will be seen in 'Raees,' which is slated to release in 2017, and Gauri Shinde's next film alongside Alia Bhatt, possibly titled 'Dear Zindagi.
