On day 8 of the US Open tennis tournaments being played at Flushing Meadows in New York, India had a tough day out, as Divij Sharan lost in the men's doubles along with his Chinese Taipei partner Lu Yen-Hsun to Pakistan's Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Netherlands' Jean-Julien Rojer.

Sharan and his partner, however, won the second set to throw up a little challenge, but ended up losing 6-7, 6-3, 3-6.

The Indian had recently won an ATP tournament with partner Purav Raja at Bogota, Colombia after beating France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Netherlands' Igor Sijsling in the finals.
