Police submitted here today all documents before a court in the rape case of an American woman and the three accused are in judicial custody.

The Superintendent of police, Kullu, V. K. Dhawan said that once the court reviews the documents, it would announce the commencement of the trial. "We have submitted all documents in the American woman rape case before the court on June 11. The trial would begin after the court reviews the documents and gives a date for the proceedings to begin."

" Supplementary documents would also be provided to the court and the police have done everything needed in the case," said Dhawan.

All the three accused are in judicial custody till June 17. The case is already with the trial court . Dhawan said that the Police would urge the court to conduct their trial while they are in judicial custody.

The 30-year-old American tourist was gang-raped by a group of men in Manali on June 3 night while she was hitch-hiking back to her guest house in the town.

The woman told police her attackers took her to an isolated area and raped her. She was taken to a local hospital for preliminary tests before being taken back to her guest house.

The three suspects were arrested based on the sketches drawn with the help of the victim's description. The suspects, who are all in their early twenties, were interrogated by police and their truck has also been seized.
