Elton John has revealed that he was left moments away from death after his appendix burst while he was on a tour.
The 66-year-old singer said that he had dismissed crippling stomach pains that he had been suffering for a fortnight as 'just a virus' and continued his punishing schedule because of which he was forced to walk off stage halfway through a gig in Germany, the Daily Star reported.
The musician was rushed to hospital where doctors, who performed an emergency operation to save his life, told him that he had been a 'ticking time bomb.'
John said that from the moment the appendix bursts a person has just half-an-hour to get to hospital or else it's over.
He also also noted that his July's near to death experience had made him re-evaluate his life.
