Former president Abul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam cast his vote during the third phase of general elections held here on Thursday.

Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh also exercised his franchise, while Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda cast his vote in Rohtak.

After casting his vote, Hooda predicted a majority win for the Congress in Haryana.

"In 2004 we got 9 out of 10, in 2009 we got 9 out of 10 and this time we can even get 10 out of 10," Hooda said.

Aam Admi Party candidates Shazia Ilmi and Gul Panag also cast their votes in polling booths in Ghaziabad and Chandigarh respectively.

Talking to reporters later, Ilmi said: "The AAP is giving a tough competition. Whether you go to BSP-dominated places, BJP-dominated places, or SP-dominated places, the AAP is giving a tough fight to all. The AAP is emerging above all."

Voting for the third phase of general elections was held in eleven states and assembly segments on Thursday.

Spread over five weeks in nine separate phases, the elections end on May 12 and results would be announced on May 16.
