FCA India opens pre-bookings for the Jeep Compass in Delhi/NCR

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India today announced the opening of pre-bookings for its Made in India Jeep® Compass in Delhi. To pre-book the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), interested customers can either log in to the company's official website www.jeep-india.com or visit the nearest FCA or Jeep-exclusive showroom and place a pre-booking amount of Rs. 50,000.

The Jeep® Compass, manufactured locally at FCA's state of the art joint-venture facility in Ranjan gaon, near Pune will be available in three trims - Sport, Longitude and the Limited (top-of-the-line). Customers will have a choice of five colours Minimal Grey, Exotica Red, Hydro Blue, Vocal White and Hip Hop Black as well as options in 4x2 and 4x4.

Announcing the opening of bookings, Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director, FCA India said, "To harness the great demand for the Jeep® Compass, we have executed a customer outreach across 21 cities at 26 shopping malls across India. The Jeep® Compass is being offered with two powertrain options - the 160+ HP, 250 Nm Multi-air petrol and the 170+ HP, 350 Nm, Diesel. The SUV will also come with options of the 6-speed manual transmission (Petrol and Diesel) and the 7-speed Dual Dry Clutch Technology Automatic or DDCT (Petrol) both these engines will be scalable to BS VI regulatory requirements in India.

The Jeep® Compass 4x4 will be equipped with Jeep Active Drive and Selec-Terrain Traction Management System. The SUV will come with a Driveline Disconnect Technology (DDT). True to its name, DDT disconnects the drive that goes to the rear wheels automatically when not required. This helps in fuel saving and assists safer driving.

The Jeep® Compass will offer the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) across the range. The EPB comes in four modes. The Jeep Compass will be the only SUV in this size and classification that will offer this cool safety and security feature across the range.

The Jeep® Compass will have Frequency Selective Damping (FSD). This technology provides variable damping that adjusts to road undulations. These shock absorbers use a special valve inside to enable an optimal ride at both high and low frequencies. FSD is usually used in performance and luxury vehicles, however with this adaptation to the Compass our product will stand apart in ride quality and handling.

With more than 50 safety and security features, the Jeep Compass will be one of the safest SUVs on Indian roads. Customers will have the luxury of having safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Dynamic Steering Torque (DST), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Adaptive Brake Lights, Panic Brake Assist and many more such features as standard across the range. The Compass Limited 4x4 will be equipped with six airbags with dual stage passenger airbags.

The Made-in-India Jeep® Compass is being manufactured in 50 different trim, powertrain, transmission and colour combinations so Indian customers will have an extensive range of choice.
