Five footballers belonging to the English club Crewe Alexandra have been arrested on the suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman in Redruth, while being on a pre-season training camp in Cornwall.
According to BBC, Devon and Cornwall Police held five men at custody centres in Camborne and Newquay, and a statement said that the incident was alleged to have happened in a property in Redruth, with a complaint being lodged soon after.
The club refused to comment adding it was not appropriate to do so during a police investigation, the report said.
Crewe had finished 13th in League One last season besides winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, and more than 20 players out of its squad have been on the training trip to Cornwall.
