Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday said the Delhi Government should avoid 'brinkmanship' over the appointment of Shakuntala Gamlin as acting chief secretary of Delhi, an advised taking the legal route to resolve the same.
"The manner in which the whole issue has been raised by the state government by this kind of brinkmanship is not proper. If they want to get this issue of the authority of state government vis-a-vis the authority of the Lieutenant Governor in the matter of postings of officers to be settled, they should go to court. This can create a constitutional crisis which can have unfortunate effects," Bhushan told ANI.
Supreme Court senior advocate Rajeev Dhawan, who has been approached by the Delhi Government, opined that the current crisis has been created 'entirely' by Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
