Five-day festival of Carnival will begin on Saturday in Goa.
The main attraction will be the float parade on the capital city Panaji road adjoining the bank of River Mandovi.
The state has made all the preparations for the Samba event, which attracts thousands of tourists.
Panaji wears a festive look with decorations and illuminations on the main roads.
Directorate of Art and Culture government of Goa has installed colourful cut-outs on all main squares in the city and made elaborate arrangements for the annual merrymaking event.
Traditionally, it is thought that the King Momo rules Goa during the five days festival with the motto "Eat drink and enjoy".
Shalom Sardinha has been selected as the King Momo this year.
Carnival will be celebrated throughout Goa and especially Madgaon, Vasco, Mhapusa and Ponda with float parades each day for the next five days.
