Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asserted that the Centre is committed to double the income of all farmers by 2022, much ahead of time frame set by the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Speaking in his valedictory address on the concluding day of the international conference on Rule of Law for Supporting the 2030 Development Agenda, Sustainable Development Goals, Rajnath said that the Centre has adopted a zero tolerance policy against hunger and that India will successfully end hunger by 2030.
The Home Minister also said that eradicating poverty is the greatest global challenge and top most priority for India.
He said that the government is exploring new ways to empower women by providing equal opportunity in political, economic and public life.
