The militants armed with grenades attacked a polling booth in Jammu and Kashmir's Tral constituency on Sunday injuring one Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan.
According to reports, the jawan has been shifted to a hospital in Srinagar.
Further details are awaited.
This attack comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Srinagar on Monday. This is also the second such attack in three days in this area, after militants had lobbed a grenade at a bus stand in the region on December 5.
The third phase of the five-phase Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is scheduled to take place on Tuesday. Tral is one of the constituencies to go to polls in this phase.
