Border Security Force Director General (BSF DG) D K Pathak is expected to visit the border area of Punjab's Gurdaspur district, which is along the International Border with Pakistan, on Wednesday to check the security setup in the wake of the terrorist attack.
As per the sources, the DG is also likely to hold a meeting of BSF sector and frontier commanders along with officials of state police and intelligence agencies.
Pathak is also expected to meet senior Punjab police officials, who oversaw the operation that led to the elimination of three terrorists on Monday.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier said that the terrorists involved in the Gurdaspur terror attack, which has claimed the lives of several civilians and police personnel, are linked to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.
