Gwyneth Paltrow recently broke down while she was describing her fears of a man, who is on trial for stalking her.

The 43-year-old actress revealed that Dante Soiu stalked her and sent her 66 upsetting letters containing vague threats, his intention to marry her, her death, porn and unsolicited gifts, reports News.com.au.

Soiu is accused of stalking the Oscar-winning actor for 17 years, but the case focuses on the most recent batch of messages he has sent her between 2009 and 2015.

Paltrow was the first witness called and authenticated 48 of the letters. She gave evidence about letters and packages she received from Soiu dating to 1999, including several that contained pornography, sex toys and statements that he wanted to cleanse her of sin.

Deputy District Attorney said that the case has gone on for 17 years and Paltrow's sense of security has been shattered by this man.

Sources revealed that the actress, who was dresses in a white turtleneck and black slacks, remained composed in the witness stand, showing concern on her face and wiping her eyes at one point during approximately an hour of testimony.

Soiu was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2000 in a previous trial involving messages he sent to Paltrow, which included pornography and sex toys.

He was sent to a mental institution for several years, but was re-arrested in 2015 after sending the actor new correspondence.
