Commanding officers of India's Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have met to resolve border issues between the two nations.
A frontier level flag meeting was held between the two delegations at the Indo-Bangladesh border 'Fulbari,' in West Bengal.
Inspector General of the Border Security Force (North Bengal Frontier), S.K.Sood, said: "The purpose is to exchange our views on the border problems that are existing in our area of our responsibility and to come to a mutual solution after discussing the issues, that is the main purpose of this border conference."
Region Commander of the Border Guard Bangladesh, Firoj Rasid, led a seven-member team at the conference.
Addressing mediapersons, Sood said such meetings would provide a platform to take spot decisions and also enhance mutual understanding for smooth border control.
About 199 border outposts come under the jurisdiction of the BSF's North Bengal Frontier force, while 177 border outposts are under the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
India shares a 4096 km border with Bangladesh, of which West Bengal has the larger portion of 2216 km.
