India to discuss trade-related issues during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit

Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be discussing commerce and trade related issues with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the latter's visit to India.

"China's President Xi Chi Ping is coming to India this month, and after coming here when he will have talks with our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They will primarily be talking about the relation between India and China, particularly in commerce and trade related issues," said Sitharaman.

"We will discuss about access of the greater China market. We are now encouraging and inviting them to invest and manufacture in our country and then market the same in our country. We are demanding this because this will help our youths get employment," she added.

She further said that India is primarily going to focus in the areas of technology and tourism.

"We are going to work towards expanding the five Ts including tradition trade, tourism, and technology. We have so much of potential in this country. Whether it is technology where we Indians have really gone far or tourism. So, these are the areas we are going to put our attention to and invest in," Sitharaman said.

Jinping will be visiting India late September. The Chinese President's visit to Pakistan which was also due this month has been postponed.
