Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal's hopes of securing her maiden title of the season were shattered once again after she lost to top-seed Carolina Marin in the women's singles quarter-final clash of the Indonesia Super Series Premier tournament here on Friday.
The eighth-seeded Indian, who has won three times at Jakarta, was beaten 22-24, 11-21 by her Spanish opponent in a contest that lasted 47 minutes.
Saina has been struggling to breach the last-four stage in the major tournaments as the 26-year-old had made a slew of semifinal finishes at the Swiss Grand Prix Gold, India Super Series, Malaysia Super Series Premier Open and Asia Badminton Championships.
