Wing Commander (Retd.) Praful Bakshi on Thursday dubbed Nawaz Sharif's remark on the Kashmir issue as a 'weak stand of a helpless Prime Minister', adding that the latter is now speaking a language which his country's army wants to hear.

Wing Commander (Retd.) Bakshi was reacting to a statement by Sharif, who had earlier in the day said that he would talk with Kashmiri leaders before initiating any dialogue with New Delhi.

"Before dialogue with India, I have decided to engage with Kashmiri leaders. Blaming Pakistan's agencies for involvement in extremism is an utter lie," The Dawn reported Sharif as saying.

"Nawaz Sharif's situation is very unstable, he is very insecure and his insecurity is quite evident because he knows very well that last time...... the army threw him out, he had to go out and come back," said Wing Commander (Retd.) Bakshi.

"This time he does not want to take a chance. So, he is speaking a language which army wants to hear," he added.

Wing Commander (Retd.) Bakshi further said that the Pakistani Army wants to keep the Kashmir issue alive.

"To keep the Kashmir issue alive means we must keep talking to the Kashmir separatist elements. And that is what Nawaz Sharif has now realized that if he now wants to survive, he will have to speak the same language as the Pakistani Army demands," he added.
