Fast bowler Ishant Sharma confounded critics on Thursday by claiming his second five wicket haul in two matches, to help India bowl out New Zealand for 192 in the second cricket Test between the two sides.
The match, which is being played at the Basin Reserve cricket ground in Wellington, saw Ishant claiming six wickets for 51 runs of 17 overs that included three maidens.
Ishant was ably assisted by fellow seamer Mohammed Shami, who claimed four wickets for 70 of 16.5 overs.
Zaheer Khan and spinner Ravindra Jadeja went wicket-less for 57 and 12 runs respectively.
For New Zealand, the top scorers were Kane Williamson (47), B.J.Watling (33) and Tim Southee (32).
In reply, when reports last came in, India had scored 44 for the loss of opener Murali Vijay's wicket. They still need to score another 149 runs to overcome the New Zealand total.
Vijay was caught behind for two. Shikhar Dhawan and Chetsehwar Pujara are at the crease on 26 and 12 respectively.
Further updates are awaited.
