The Rajasthan Police has identified the chief suspect after arresting seven people in connection with the rape of a 20-year old Japanese tourist near Jaipur.
The suspect allegedly raped the woman on Sunday on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, near Mozmabad village in the Rajasthan.
Inspector General of the local police force, D.C. Jain, said they the police have established the identities of their main suspects.
"We have indentified the main accused whose name is Ajit Singh Chaudhary and he is 24-years-old. He is from a place near Mozmabad village but stays in Jaipur. We have also identified his relatives and some of his friends who were involved in this case," said Jain.
The Japanese woman had previously checked in to Stephels guest house in Jaipur as part of her trip.
She was unable to recall the name of the accused and a medical examination confirmed that she had been raped.
