The Janata Dal (United) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were left red-faced after former cabinet minister Renu Kushwaha and Dr. Sunil Kumar Kushwaha from the JD (U) and Brij Kishore Singh of the RJD joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.
The announcement of these leaders joining the BJP came a day before the Swabhiman rally in Patna.
"I welcome Renu Kushwaha, Dr. Sunil Kumar Kushwaha and Brij Kishore Singh to the BJP. Your presence will further strengthen the party in the state to change the scenario of Bihar," BJP state president Mangal Pandey told media here.
Pandey also criticised the Swabhiman rally, saying it was a cluster of arrogant people who have committed different sins.
He alleged that the Mahagathabandhan leaders were adopting wrong means to make this rally successful.
The elections dates for Bihar are yet to be announced by the Election Commission.
