The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday condemned the terror attacks that took place in Kashmir, and suggested that it could be a reaction of jihadis and separatists who have not succeeded in their call to boycott the ongoing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The fact is that the jihadis and separatists have not succeeded in their call to abandon the electoral process and the massive turnout in the assembly elections shows that such terror groups are losing their ground and the democratic process has taken over," BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi said.

Reacting to Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed's threat and the venom he spewed against India at the conclave in Lahore, the BJP leader said that it shows Pakistan is trying to showcase how terrorists are protected and the nation's stand for terrorism.

The BJP leader also said that the Indian Army's retaliation to the Pakistani shelling in the Indian borders caused a lot of harm and damage to the Pakistani side which in turn has resorted to carrying out the series of terror attacks. She further added that the Indian Government and the Ministry of Defence will have to find a way of averting these kinds of attacks.

On Friday, the militants struck in a big way storming an Army camp in Uri sector in the district of Baramulla. This was followed by multiple attacks in Srinagar, Tral and Shopian.
