Kenye West reportedly turned down the offer to be a judge on American Idol season13, as he didn't want to go mainstream.
A source told Us Magazine that the 36-year-old rapper, who was offered the third spot on the popular Reality TV series, turned it down as he didn't want to lose any street cred.
The insider added that Idol producers also met with three other contenders for the spot: Will.i.am, Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Rodney Jerkins.
In the end, though, their top choice appears to be songwriter and record producer Dr. Luke (real name: Lukasz Gottwald).
