Popular comedian-actor Kapil Sharma on Monday moved the Bombay High Court challenging the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)'s order to demolish "illegal portions" of his Versova.

Sharma in Sepetember kicked up a row when he tweeted that the BMC officers sought a bribe of Rs. five lakh for the construction of his premises in Versova.

Earlier, it was being said that BMC found out the 35-year-old star had violated several rules in his office at Versova.

Sharma had tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his post generated reactions from all major political parties, with an eye on the forthcoming civic elections.

BMC vigilance chief engineer Manohar Pawar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have both responded to Sharma and assured that they are looking into the matter.

Pawar asked Sharma to make a formal complaint and name the officer who demanded bribe from him and the Chief Minister responded to his tweet asking for the name.
