Minister for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath will inaugurate a regional conference on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 at the Vigyan Bhavan here on July 30.
The conference will provide a platform for discussion and deliberation on the mandate and outreach of POCSO Act, 2013 with the aim of raising awareness on provisions therein.
The conference shall be attended by officials from Central and State Women and Child Departments, Child Rights Commissions, Education Departments, Police Academies, Judicial Academies, Legal Service Authorities, Home Departments, Health Departments, Public Prosecutor Offices and Administrative Training Institutes. Participants from various states such as Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Chattisgarh will also be present.
