Terming the Mahakaushal express derailment incident as 'unfortunate', Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh on Thursday said it is a matter of probe, adding that necessary compensation will be announced.
"Any incident is unfortunate. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed me to go to Mahoba. The ATS and railway police are there. I will take cognizance and will let Yogi Adityanath ji know," Singh told ANI.
"After the Chief Minister's advice, necessary compensation will be announced. The incident is a matter of probe," he added.
A 47-member NDRF team reached the Mahakaushal train derailment site in Mahoba.
NDRF's R.P. Singh said there is no casualties so far, adding that there is less probability of people being trapped.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed Singh to visit the site of Mahakaushal express derailment and oversee the rescue and relief operations there.
As many as 22 people have suffered injuries in the Mahakaushal express derailment accident that took place today.
"22 people suffered injuries in Mahakaushal express derailment accident, out of which 19 are discharged," Anil Saxena, DG (PR) of Indian Railways told ANI.
Eight coaches of a Delhi bound Jabalpur-Mahakaushal express had derailed near Kulapahar in Maharashtra's Mahoba.
The remaining coaches of the train will be moved forward towards Jhansi where eight additional coaches will be attached.
Three buses were arranged for the passengers while the stranded ones are provided with water and biscuits.
