Premier League club Manchester United is considering moving for Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto in January after being told that he is available for a 6 million pound bargain.

According to Metro.co.uk, United boss David Moyes is still on the lookout for another attack minded midfielder having failed to land either Cesc Fabregas or Ander Herrera in the summer.

With Moyes admitting this week he plans to go shopping in the January window, he has been offered a solution to all his problems in the form of Spain Under-21 ace Roberto, the report said.

The pass-master has 18 months left on his current contract with Barca but has struggled to make inroads into the first-team, and has his agent has touted him around European clubs, the report added.

United have been informed that his preference is to move to Old Trafford, and Barca would do business for around 6million pounds, the report further said.

Tottenham have previously held talks with the player over a transfer, but despite his interest in English football, he only wants to play for a Champions League club, according to the report.

Roberto, a cultured central midfielder with excellent vision and passing range, has made over 100 appearances for Barca's B team since breaking through as a 16-year-old, the report mentioned.
