A Maoist attack in Jharkhand left three members of a family dead, with four others injured.
The family, native of Murmuh village in Latehar district, was returning from a picnic on Saturday when they were attacked by the left wing extremists. While four people managed to escape, three were abducted by the rebels and taken to hide-outs.
The three men were lynched before being shot dead. Police recovered the bodies on Sunday morning and also found six bullet shells and one revolver from the spot.
"Yesterday three members of the same family were kidnapped and killed by the Maoists. They were kidnapped from the border area of Sahidapar. Today morning we have recovered the dead bodies from the jungle. We will be investigating the incident according to the law," said Ratan Kumar Chouhe, Superintendent of Police, Lohardaga.
Further details are awaited.
