A Leicestershire-based gardener has secured his place in the Guinness Book of World Records by growing a mega-onion of 18lb 11oz.
The gardener Tony Glover said that he gives them a nitrogen-rich food and makes sure the humidity is just right, Metro.co.uk reported.
The 49-year-old added that he has also got grow lights fitted inside (to the greenhouse) to simulate the sun when the days get shorter or when the weather isn't very good.
Glover, who has been growing vegetables since the age of 16, continued that though it took him nearly a year to grow the super-vegetable, he loves what he does.
