A massive fire has broken out in Kolkata's New Market area on Lindsay Street.
The Fire Services ADG Sanjoy Mukherjee stated that 20 fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
"The primary objective is to douse the fire. Twenty fire tenders are at work and the fire is almost doused," he said.
"The fire started out small perhaps why it was undetected and the shops had lots of vegetables and paper plates which is why it spread so fast," an eyewitness said.
