The Judicial Commission inquiring the incident at government-owned Jawahar Bagh in Mathura, where 29 people including two police officers were killed on June 2 during an anti-encroachment drive, will conduct its second round of probe from today.

The single-member Judicial Commission, headed by Justice Mirza Imtiaz Murtaza, will probe the reason behind the Jawahar Bagh incident, shortcomings in the planning of Mathura police and role of supervising officers, the secretary of the probe commission Pramod Kumar Goyal said.

Illegal encroachment of government-owned Jawahar Bagh by members of a group had led to clashes between the squatters and police leaving 29 persons dead, including two police officials earlier on June 2.
