Meet Saba Altaf, Kashmir Valley's emerging painter

Kashmir may be a hotbed of violence these days, but the valley has always inspired some of the most remarkable works of art and poetry and continues to do so. Saba Altaf is the latest to make waves as a prolific young artist.

At age 21, Altaf's paint brush allows her to express herself beyond the limitations of her business management studies.

"One should do whatever makes one happy. Art is something in which one can earn a good livelihood. They get well paid and it makes one happy. If one is interested in art they should carry forward as a profession. But these days not many people are taking art as their career option," said Altaf.

Altaf is amongst one of those emerging artiste who are striking a perfect balance between her education and her abiding love for the arts. She has won many awards in painting and has also put up an exhibition.
