Melanie Brown has quashed the rumours that she was held hostage in her home by her husband Stephen Belafonte when she missed the 'X Factor' final in December.
The 40-year-old singer took it to her Twitter page to explain "Pls don't believe what you read it's all lies lies lies as usual," the Mirror reported.
A spokesperson for the former Spice Girl said that Brown and Belafonte categorically deny this is true and the police have not contacted the 39-year-old film producer.
It was reported recently that Belafonte is set to face police questioning over the incident when he returns to the UK from Los Angeles where he is currently living with Brown.
The Sun newspaper reported that Belafonte refused to let her leave their home in west London the day before Mel was rushed to hospital and on December 10, four days before she appeared on the Sunday final show without her wedding band on, he is said to have held her captive.
The Metropolitan Police said that police in Kensington and Chelsea borough are investigating an allegation of false imprisonment and the allegation was reported on Monday December 15.
