New Delhi, Mar. 25 (ANI): Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes on Wednesday launched two new speciality cars, E-Class Cabriolet and CLS 250 CDI Coupe priced at Rs 78.50 lakh and Rs 76.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

These launches are in tune with their strategy of '15 in 15' India market growth plan, which will see the luxury car manufacturer launch 15 models and open 15 new outlets during 2015.

The cars will be brought to India as Completely Built Units, which explains the steep pricing.

"This year we have already introduced a diverse range of cars for the Indian market which will fascinate and delight customers." India will also be receiving the Mercedes app for the first time to cater to India's tech-savvy audience," Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, Eberhard Kern, said.

"Mercedes-Benz customers are highly tech-savvy and are always on the move. Mercedes-Benz for the first time in India is launching the advanced Mercedes-Benz Apps across the product range which is equipped with Comand Online control. This will ensure the customers get access to all the important information and always remain connected," added Kern.

The new E-Class Cabriolet is powered by a V6 turbocharged petrol engine with a maximum torque of 480 Nm between 1600 - 4000 rpm. The car, which accelerates from 0 to 100 in 5.3 seconds, can do a top speed of 250 km/h. It is coupled with a seven speed automatic transmission to keep the ride smooth. The gear box helps increase mileage and has both an 'Economy' and a 'Sport' mode. The car comes with paddle shifts, which may be used when in sports mode.

On the exterior, the car sports a redesigned bumper, radiator grille and headlamps. While on the inside, this car has a clear, functional design with only high end materials used. The front seats are equipped with electric adjustment for height and backrest angle. The rear passengers get electric head restraints, which also act as a roll-over protection system.

The car also sports a 23.5 mm thick three-component fabric soft top, which ensures low noise level. The fabric top can be opened and closed fully automatically in around 20 seconds with the vehicle moving at not more than 40 km per hour.

The CLS-Class Coupe on the other hand has a four-cylinder diesel engine with a maximum torque of 500 Nm between 1600 - 1800 rpm. This car also boasts of a seven speed automatic transmission with an 'Economy' and 'Sport' mode similar to the E-Class.

The CLS boasts a bonnet, diamond radiator grille in black and multi-beam LED lights, with daytime running lamps. The interiors sport a new steering wheel with 3-spoke design and seats in leather and a free-standing 20.3 cm screen atop the central console.
