Even as heatwave continues to grip most parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Southwest Uttar Pradesh, along with central areas of West Madhya Pradesh and a few districts of Gujarat, the commencement of Westerly and Southwesterly winds that are blowing from the Arabian Sea may help in reducing temperatures, thereby abating the hot conditions.
Rains are expected to show up in northwest India by the weekend.
According to the Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region on April 21. On account of this, scattered rains are expected to occur over Punjab and Haryana on April 22 or April 23 onwards.
Parts of Punjab, Haryana, and North Rajasthan including some parts of Delhi and NCR along with adjoining regions of Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness scattered rain and thundershowers between April 22 and April 25.
