A West Michigan city has attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the largest salad bar.

Saturday's 680-foot-long salad bar in Hudsonville included locally-grown lettuce, cabbage, radishes, celery, carrots, onions, zucchini, cucumbers and peppers, the New York Daily News reported.

All those vegetables are expected to weigh nearly 5,000 pounds.

According to Guinness, the current record was set by a 660-foot, 4,548-pound salad bar in South Africa in 2002.

The world-record attempt is part of the Saladbowl Bash, which also includes live entertainment, vendor booths, a bike parade and a spelling bee.
