Now, get cake delivered at your doorstep by drones

A cake company based in China has claimed that they used remote-controlled aircraft on five different occasions to deliver their goods across the Huangpu River to their patrons in downtown.

According to Men Ruifeng, the marketing manager of the Incake company, the aircraft, which measures 1.1 meters in diameter, has been fitted with five propellers, flies at a height of about 100 meters and can be remotely controlled over many kilometres, Shanghai Daily reported.

He said that the drone also has two cameras and the controller can pilot it from a nearby vehicle.

The company bough three such drones, all of which are refitted from a Chinese-made aviation model.

Ruifeng claimed that the service is quicker and environmental friendly and are intended for couples who are celebrating special moments and are willing to spend 325.8 dollars.

However, there are some who have pointed the dangers off such an endeavour, as the drone which weighs up to 10 kilograms could fall on someone and injure them.

Local police said that they have been investigating the issue.
