British pop singer Mick Hucknall has admitted that he was drunk when he bought David Beckham's boots for 20,000 pounds outbidding celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
The 54-year-old singer asserted that the Beckhams threw a massive party just before the England squad left for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and he entered into a bidding war with Oliver after a few glasses of champagne, the Mirror reported.
The 'Holding Back the Years' hitmaker continued that their bids kept going up and in the end he asked Oliver to let him have the boots.
