President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday condoled the passing away of Hindi author Rajendra Yadav.
In a condolence message to his wife, Mannu Bhandari, Mukherjee has said, "Rajendra Yadav was a noted Hindi writer, a prominent novelist and an intellectual, who had enriched Hindi literature through his unique style. The vacuum created by his death cannot be filled"
"In his passing away, the literary world has lost a creative genius who contributed immensely to Hindi literature," he added.
Yadav, a pioneer of the Hindi literary movement "Nayi Kahani," died here on Monday night after a prolonged illness. He was 84.
Yadav was also the editor of the famous "Hans" magazine, which was originally launched by the legendary writer, Munshi Premchand.
