Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav invited several leaders from the Third Front at his residence here on Thursday in his bid to put up a united show of strength to take on a resurgent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA Government at the Centre.
Those who attended the luncheon meeting hosted by the Samajwadi Party supremo were Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav along with his wife Rabri Devi, Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav, former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar as well as senior party leader K. C. Tyagi.
Other prominent leaders including Janata Dal (Secular) chief and former prime minister Deve Gowda and Dushyant Chautala from the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) were among those present in the meeting.
The meeting took place ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament, which is set to resume towards the end of this month.
