Britain number one Andy Murray has said that he has a good chance to finish this season as world number two, adding that it will be for the first time he will do that.
He asserted that he has been hitting the ball quite clean from this week, adding that he is avoiding any kind of unforced errors.
Speaking on his chances of becoming the world number one, Murray said that although he is long way behind Novak Djokovic, he could surpass the latter by performing well in few matches.
The 28-year-old said, he hopes he could attain that by next year, the Daily Express reported.
Murray said that he has to be a little bit better with his shot selection, insisting that if he cuts those bad shots during important matches then he could defiantly reach at the top.
Earlier, Murray brilliantly bounced back from a set down to claim a 6-7(7), 6-4, 6-4 win over his American opponent John Isner to progress through to the Shanghai Masters quarterfinals.
The Briton will next lock horns with Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic for the semi-final berth in Shanghai Masters.
