Minutes after Britain number one Andy Murray scripted history by winning the Davis Cup for his country after a long gap of 79 years, wishes began pouring in from British icons as well as tennis fraternity.
The 28-year-old defeated Belgium's David Goffin 6-3 7-5 6-3 to give the visitors an unassailable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five tie.
World number Novak Djokovic used microblogging website, Twitter, to extend his wishes, saying that the Briton thoroughly deserved the win.
"Congrats #teamGB on DC win! @andy_murray Seeing ur reaction after winning made me relive again how it was 4 us in '10.Well done, u deserve it," tweeted Djokovic.

British Prime Minister David Cameron also congratulated the whole team for winning the title for the first time since 1936.

Spanish tennis player Feliciano Lopez also presented his heartfelt congratulations on this historic win of the world number two.
"What you've made for British Tennis @andy_murray is out of this world.My heartfelt congrats man??#SW19 #2GoldMedals #DC You deserve it all," he said in a tweet.

Former world number Boris Becker also congratulated the Briton and his whole team on creating history.
