The runways have predicted nail trends for all manicure-fans for the year 2014, from the way of applying nail polish to the colours that are in vogue.
Beth Fricke, celebrity manicurist said that the trend is drama, whether it is loud in oxblood shades or muted in sheer colours.
According to Rod Anker, Creative Director of Monsoon Salon and Spa, plain pink and plain white seem boring but he added that he loved the sheer nails with a diagonal sliver of blue on the tips at the Katie Holmes show.
Anker also claimed to be feeling that the matte nail trend is going to stay.
Pammy Kaul, of Scratch Nails warned against making nail art too cluttered saying that simple patterns, such as checks or just plain stripes are really in vogue.
She advised to keep nail art simple, adding that one should opt for metallic nails.
