A report has revealed that NATO has released satellite images that show Russian armed forces in Ukrainian territory supporting the pro-Russia rebels fighting against Kiev.
Terming the revelation "sharp aggravation of the situation," Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko called a Security Council meeting on Thursday, reported the BBC.
Russia, on the other hand, has denied the claim.
The United Nations Security Council also called an urgent meeting in New York to discuss the crisis. While the United States ambassador to the U.N., Samantha Power, underlined the need for Russia to stop supporting the rebels and lying about it, Russia's ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin called the crisis a direct result of the reckless policies of Ukraine, who he said is waging a war against its own people.
U.S President Barack Obama also accused Russia of encouraging, funding and arming the separatists in Easter Ukraine. He also said that Russia was already isolated internationally.
