Police on Monday questioned Nellore Rural MLA K. Sridhar Reddy regarding cricket betting case. Nellore Town MLA will also be questioned soon.
Sridhar Reddy appeared before Additional Superintendent of Police Sharath Babu, and he was questioned by police officer regarding cricket betting case.
Superintendent of Police Nellore Ramakrishna and Sharath Babu both spoke to ANI and said, "The enquiry is yet not completed. We have to collect some more evidence. It is not possible to tell anything beyond this. Nellore Rural MLA K. Sridhar Reddy was questioned today and Nellore Town MLA Anil Kumar will be questioned soon"
After the questioning, MLA spoke to media repeated political vendetta allegation against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government.
On August 21, Nellore Police served notice to Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Nellore Town MLA P. Anil Kumar under Section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code in connection with cricket betting case.
The incident took place amid reports that the police found evidence of these MLAs having links with the arrested cricket bookies whose telephone call records have been closely tracked and analysed as part of the extensive probe.
On August 22, these MLAs were questioned by Nellore Police.
After questioning, the legislators accused the TDP government is targeting them for opposition MLAs while letting off TDP supporters involved in betting. Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy warned of launching agitation if they are harassed in the name of betting scam.
