Storage and data management company NetApp announced signing of MoUs with Varanasi and Karnal Municipal Corporation for their Smart City initiatives.
"The company will provide storage, surveillance and security infrastructure for the projects. Part of the process will be to get the specifications, design elements and architecture right," said President-India and Saarc NetApp Anil Velluri.
NetApp has partnered with Cisco for smart city solutions and is open to more partnerships with other technology vendors."Each vendor brings a different dimension to the table.
"The whole idea is to collaborate at the core design and architecture-level and help government," added Anil.
"We are growing 50 percent year-on-year (YoY) in terms of capacity of storage requirements. Now with IoT, it will be three times or four times every year for every individual," added Velluri.
