Spanish giants Barcelona have brushed aside rival Elche in a dominant one-sided game as they won the first leg of the last 16 tie in the Copa del Rey.
Brazilian star striker Neymar scored the opening goal for the team before it was extended by Luis Suarez, who netted a low shot finish. Lionel Messi further consolidated the lead by scoring a penalty to ensure a 3-0 interval lead, the BBC reported.
In addition, Jordi Alba's composed finish and Neymar's fierce drive helped Luis Enrique's side to win the first leg of the last 16 tie.
Barcelona would either face arch rival Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals, unless Elche manages to net more than five goals in next Thursday's second leg against Barcelona.
